Well a mere 3 blogs in and almost two months later, It's time to get down to business with these "projects." We are out of school and back from the first summer vacay of the season and it's time to get down to just plain "doing stuff!" So now to choose tomorrow's task. The girls have VBS all week so these can't be all day ordeals. I'm thinking about a shaving cream activity......or perhaps the density bottle. (Have I mentioned I am seriously pondering the idea of starting to embroider as a home business? This has been bouncing around in my head for awhile now. I've been doing Hair bows for years now...this would be an extension of my "for hire" craftiness. ) I just cleaned out the empty pickle jar my husband left in the kitchen sink....am thinking terrarium????? Maybe???? Maybe???
While we didn't have a "project a day" on our road trip this past week, I think we didn't do too bad with our accomplishments. The girls kept travel journals....well.....for at least 3 days of their trip ;) They were "homemade" journals. I'll post pics of their remains ;) in a bit. They caved not once BUT TWICE! They rode to the top of the St. Louis Gateway Arch and tried on Little House bonnets. We made friends with two horses that think they are dogs while visiting Grandpa King and made (actually we ate...grandma made) a blackberry cobbler from blackberries the girls picked. The girls splashed in a couple really great mountain streams and sampled some "redneck" delicacies......the girls sampled the jams, jellies & apple butter.....Joe and I stuck to the moonshine ;) The Blackberry Moonshine was actually quite good. We rode a ski lift to the top of a mountain and spent our life savings at Ripley's Attractions ;) While Gatlingburg was way more tourist attractions than new learning experiences, I think the girls made memories and how can that be bad??? Now don't get me wrong....this trip didn't come without it's stressful moments....traveling with three small kids isn't easy......To be honest I think this picture tells the story quite well ;)
Ok so starting from here on we will be going hard with our daily crafts/experiements/experiences. Stay tuned!!!!!
